Because our liquid mix is so thermally dense, we can often pour it significantly thinner than traditional 65mm+ sand and cement beds. Thinner screed means less water in the building, so your schedule doesn’t have to grind to a halt.

Your Liquid Screed Questions Answered

You really don’t need a massive site to justify a liquid screed install. While there is a minimum setup cost, the benefits in a high-traffic area like a kitchen are actually higher. Because we can pour thinner, you save on floor height – which is usually at a premium in Kent renovations where you’re trying to match new floors to existing ones. We regularly handle smaller domestic pours; as long as we can get our transit-sized pump near the property, no job is too small for a high performance floor.
Laitance is a thin film that can form on the surface as the screed cures. Not every mix produces it, but if yours does, you will need to sand it off before you lay your finish – usually about 7–10 days after the pour, ensuring the surface is perfectly keyed and ready for your floor fitters. If you don’t, your tile adhesive or LVT glue won’t bond, and your floor will eventually fail.
Liquid screed is actually the best partner for an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP). Traditional boilers blast heat, but ASHPs work most efficiently at lower flow temperatures. Because our screed has such high thermal conductivity and zero air gaps, it doesn’t need the water to be nearly as hot to warm your room.
We can often pour our specialist mixes as thin as 35mm to 40mm (with a minimum of 25mm coverage over the pipes). That extra 30mm of saved head height can be the difference between a room feeling cramped or spacious.
