We would always recommend, though, letting the screed dry naturally where possible to ensure the most stable foundation for your timber.
Laitance is a weak, dusty layer that forms on the surface of liquid screed as it cures. If you don’t sand it off, your floor adhesive will stick to the dust, not the screed. We include surface preparation in our guidance to ensure your adhesive achieves a permanent, rock-solid bond.
